Frequently asked questions
I have a very unique skillset in breaking down your golf swing AND treating your symptoms of pain, stiffness, and weakness. There aren’t too many physical therapists who specialize in the area of golf… and I learned quite quickly that just because I’m a PT who plays golf, didn’t mean I knew how to effectively treat it. So, I went out and studied the golf swing intensely. I became certified through the Titleist Performance Institute. I now have the unique ability to assess your swing AND how to correct your body’s limitations. Some coaches and therapists can only give you one or the other, I can give you both!
It is preferred you bring your 5-Iron club, especially if it is fitted. If you don’t own clubs, we will have them provided.
For the first visit, wear comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement. Shorts and T-shirts/tank-tops are preferred so the TPI-expert can evaluate your movement.
Love the question, but hate the answer… it depends.
For those looking for baseline information they can take to their golf pro and polish their swing, one visit. For those who don’t have pain, but have stiffness and weakness limiting your swing, three visits.
If we come to find that you have pain that limits your swing, you will be better off with a performance package of 5 visits so we can get to the source of the problem and show you how to fix it long-term.
But if you are enjoying the sessions and the results they bring (and most do), more visits can always be booked!
You shouldn’t want to. Those pros have found the swing that works for THEM and their body’s capabilities. Koepka’s spine mobility is vastly different than Tiger’s, who had fusion surgery several times over the past few years. This performance plan first starts by determining what your body’s physical capabilities are, and then using what you can to create the best swing possible.
The sessions are 1-on-1 with the TPI expert, and usually run for about 1 hour. However, 75 minutes are blocked off for these visits so that no concepts are rushed and the client gets everything they need each visit.
